In 1967, Alberto Smania, founder of the company and official rally driver for Fiat, made his first table with leftover pieces of iron from his workshop. He was known for producing railings, fencing and gates.
This is the very invention that unleashed what would become the true heart of Smania, a company with an authentic passion for beauty, the quest for something truly “new” and attention to detail. He soon introduced wood and expanded the range with all kinds of different elements: tables, bookcases, chairs, beds and bedroom furniture.
In 1972, Smania took part in the Salone del Mobile in Milan for the first time and from then on the brand earned the recognition that has brought it to be one of the most renowned brands in the sector internationally.
