Poltrona Frau Reinterprets the Overture Sofa

Poltrona Frau has redesigned Ouverture, the sofa created by Pierluigi Cerri in 1982, which shows the strong contrast between industrial architecture and soft cushions in leather or Frau® fabric.

Ouverture is a modern sofa with a flexible, contemporary design: it’s perfect in private living rooms, public waiting rooms, offices, contract projects, and the hospitality sector. This sofa fits well in all sorts of contexts and styles.

The steel structure gives it a lean, airy look. The “T” beam is distanced from the crosspieces that support the seat so that the padded parts appear to float. The aesthetics have a technological slant due to the epoxy powder coated metal parts in matt black, which contrast effectively with the soft comfortable cushions. Lastly, we find a detail from the original 1980s design: the traditional buttons on the backrest cushions.
