Mezuzah and KazaK, Sophisticated Sculptures by Lalique
Irma Orenstein is the Tel Aviv-based designer with unmatched talent who has created a startling number of collections which are present in the most exclusive homes in Israel and abroad.
This collaboration between the artist and Lalique arose from a significant object: the fascinating Mezuzah crystal, a sculpture in several dimensions that amazingly captures light with its curved lines.
Irma Orenstein imagined and designed this object. She wanted to create a unique mezuzah that could magnificently transmit the cultural symbolism associated with this sacred object. The mezuzah represents “home” to her.
The purity of the frosted finish and polished crystal, associated with the brilliance of a finely carved frame bearing specific marks, make this object more than just a sculpture to put on display. It is a piece with exceptional “protective” value.
Kazak, the most pragmatic horse sculpture ever, pays homage to one of the most majestic animals to ever walk the earth, a symbol of the excellence of strength and speed. Captured in transparent satin crystal glass, the movement of their manes floating in the wind evokes an image of freedom and independence.
