Lalique was born because of the expertise of René Lalique, the famous artisan and jeweller from Marne, France, who was born in 1860 and lives both in England and France.
He started out as an independent designer for some of the most important jewellery brands, such as Cartier and Boucheron. Rene Lalique registered his brand RL in 1888. His unique pieces of jewellery because world-famous among aristocratic families.
His peak of success came in 1900 after participating in the Exposition Universelle in Paris. He then went on to make decorative objects in glass as well as furnishings. Through his contributions to many architectural projects, he became one of the greatest exponents of Art Deco.
After his passing, his children kept their father's mission alive and succeeded in expanding his collection to include perfumes. Today, the Lalique brand markets decorative objects, interior design, jewellery and perfumes.
