Oru Chair: Designer Patricia Urquiola for Andreu World
Patricia Urquiola has designed the Oru collection, which is heavily inspired by 1970s design and by characteristically Japanese moods and sentiments. The new Andreu World collection includes chairs and armchairs, two different widths, stools in two heights, and a variation on the lounge chair. The ergonomic design offers optimal support for the whole body and a high level of comfort, thanks to the combination of foam and elastic bands.
This powerful, emblematic, and courageous design features an exceptional three-legged structure that recalls the shape of an oar and was derived from a precise woodworking process.
The excellent connections between the wood parts and the upholstered parts, which have a harmonious natural finish, make Oru into an inimitable program that embodies an innovative personal vision of the concept of a chair.
It’s also a remarkably sustainable product. The upholstery is made of recycled fabric and the foam is also made of recycled materials, which unites artisan expertise and industrial technology.
