Bisazza
Bisazza Dealer – Milan - Italy
Bisazza is one of the best known luxury brands in the design sector, as well as a world leader in the production of glass mosaics for indoor and outdoor decorations.
In 1956, Bisazza was founded in the province of Vicenza. During its history of over half a century, the brand has strengthened its identity through products with high design value and the timeless charm of artisan craftsmanship.
The company uses modern technologies and studies different market needs to offer its products worldwide. Its collections can satisfy the most discerning customers, who love luxury furniture and want to customise their homes with unique, fashionable elements that have personality.
Collaborations with world renowned designers produce creations that blend art, architecture and fashion, which has positioned the brand as a hallmark of Italian design.
The company’s first name was Vetricolor. This is also the name of their first product: a 20x20mm mosaic tile in coloured glass. This type of product had never before been used to create artistic indoor and outdoor decorations. Continuous research brought the company to develop an efficient system for producing products in series, which allows them to make furnishings for the Italian, European and Asian markets.
The brand’s global expansion has enabled it to win important contracts, such as building mosque cupolas in mosaics and gold. Advanced technology allows them to make any design or pattern of pixels into a mosaic, and this has caused the company to develop on another level.
Since 1989, when it changed its name, Bisazza srl has started to bring mosaics indoors, mainly in public places. This has also increased the number of proposals aimed at satisfying a wider range of customers, and presents an alternative way of decorating the home.
In the second part of the 1990s, Alessandro Mendini increased brand visibility by using mosaics in important projects such as the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, the Luisiana Museum in Denmark, the Foundation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain in Paris, and the Naples Underground Station. The first Bisazza showrooms opened during the same period in Milan and New York.
In the 2000s, the management led by Fabio Novembre recruited internationally acclaimed designers like Antonio Citterio, Tom Dixton, Paola Navone, Marcel Wanders and Patricia Urquiola.
During the second part of that decade, the furniture collections Bisazza Home and Bisazza Bagno were launched to enhance the beauty and preciousness of mosaics. These luxury furnishings were conceived to outfit hotel spaces dedicated to wellbeing, suites and swimming pools - and also private homes - with truly distinctive decorative elements.
Today, the Bisazza collections feature much more than glass. Wood and marble are used to make new collections inspired by traditional flooring, fashioned with a contemporary twist.
