De Majo was founded by Guido de Majo right after WWII. He moved from his home city of Naples to the Venice area and founded the first glassworks on the island of Murano in 1947.
In a few short years, the company became specialised in the lighting sector, and evolved into an important reference point. Its strong points were dedication to quality and a great capacity to identify the new trends that influenced the glass industry. The height of its success was in the 1960s, when DE MAJO decided to invest in elite designs.
They began to innovate new styles, with a team of dynamic young designers and architects orienting the production in another direction that combines tradition with evolving design languages.
