The modular-seat version of Piero Lissoni's 271 Mex Cube sofa showcases all of its adaptability.
The sofa's modular construction allows for a wide variety of configurations, making the shapes' linear and basic imprint suitable for use in virtually every living environment.
The 271 Mex Cube couch is a wonderful synopsis of the conception and design process that takes form and is resolved in the harmonious set of pieces that represent the seat and that live to make every gesture performed in everyday life as comfortable as it is practical.
The sofa cushions, which bear the recognizable term "cubes," function independently, just like their namesake. The padding on the cushions is meant to portray the sense of ease and cosiness that the piece of furniture in question strives to communicate. The cushioning consists of cotton wool in polyester fiber or goose down, while the basic structure is in tubular steel with a square section painted black.
The model's angular and linear conformations are possible thanks to the system of autonomous cubes.
