Michael Anastassiades created the Captain Flint floor lamp for Flos with a focus on both form and function.
The conical polycarbonate diffuser and linear, fundamental structural parts in brass or painted steel give this floor lamp an air of polished modernism and adaptability. A pleasant sensation of suspension and lightness is produced as a result of the compositional freedom that results from the straightforward anchoring of the light source to the structural elements. This results in the illusion that the light source is floating.
The directness of the light that is both diffused and directional is boosted both by the shape of the diffuser and the substance that it is made of. The lamp features a foot dimmer that enables the user to change the level of light emitted as well as turn the lamp on and off.
