Marcel Wanders created the Zeppelin 1 pendant light for Flos.
Cocoon, a plastic polymer processed in the form of microfilaments and sprayed over the metal structure to create the illusion of a real silk cocoon, gives life to soft, enveloping curves and is the hallmark of this unique furnishing. In addition to enhancing the shapes in all of their continuity, this particular material is elastic, tough, and easy to maintain. The light sources are completed in a material that is both transparent and thermoplastic.
The suspension light comes complete with an optional crystal strobe sphere that is positioned in the middle of the lowermost section of the entire system.
The interplay of reflections created by the faceted crystal and the cocoon light diffuser imparts a lot of energy, which is a testament to the designer's excellent command of technical tools and refined talent in the application of style.
